Dad's Weekend 2005

Back in November of 2005 my parents came to Oregon State University in Corvallis to visit me for Dad's Weekend. We took a trip to the coast while they were visiting. It was my first trip to the coast and I had lived in Corvallis for just over two years already.

The first place we went to was the beach next to the Devil's Punchbowl.

The beach is beautiful, especially in November when it is cold, rainy, and windy. This is the view of the coast from beach level that we had that day.

My parents were acting a little strange that day and I was able to capture them in some photodoing the OSU cheer they learned the night before at a basketball game.

After we spent some time on the beach, we went to see the views from the cliffs.

From this area you can see the Devil's Punchbowl.

As you can see it's a rock formation that has been the result of the ocean eroding the earth. To be honest, it wasn't that exciting.

There were two lighthouses that we went to look at. The first one was really fun to visit. The wind was blowing so strong that you had to lean forward to keep yourself moving.

The second lighthouse looked like a house. I didn't know that they were built like that.

The last thing we looked at before leaving the coast was this beautiful bridge.

Overall, this was a great trip. As long as you dress for the cold and wet weather, you are bound to see some beautiful sights. I highly recommend this trip.

P.S. The tall lighthouse is the one that I mentioned in my post about my last night in Oregon. It will be featured in my juggling around the world video.

Thanks. These pictures were taking in November 2005. It gets very cold, rainy, and windy... very beautiful time to be there.
